The Director of ACMECS Interim Secretariat shall help facilitate effective operation of the Secretariat in performing its core functions as well as oversee the implementation of administration, budget, general affairs, among others, of the office.

Dr. Kanwana Hemkamon has been assigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand to the position of the Director of ACMECS Interim Secrertariat since January 2023.
She has served as a career diplomat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand since 2008. She have worked in the Department of International Economic Affairs and the Department of International Organizations as well as served in the Royal Thai Embassies in Bucharest, Romania and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Kanwana graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok and a Master of Arts in International Economic and Finance from the same University. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
